“Sons of God: A New Testament Identity” is an instructive and inspirational message that looks at the believers’ identity as God’s sons. That descriptive term was not applied to covenant people during the Old Testament period. God created Adam to bear His image as a Son. Adam broke that relationship, but Jesus came to “bring many sons to glory” (Heb. 2:10). Sonship defines not only relationship as one born of the Father but also describes the position of an active council member and throne room attendant. Heavenly sons – the angels of God – and earthly sons – those born in Jesus – work in tandem with the Father in the management of His Kingdom. “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God” (I Jn. 3:1).
