God is the original creator of all assets, and money is the medium of exchange that substitutes for or represents assets. Three parables are discussed within this teaching, which are the parable of the talents (Mt. 25:13-30), the rich fool (Luke 12:16-34), and the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32). Proper stewardship is examined in each parable: the first to promote increase of assets, the second to warn against hoarding, and the third to admonish toward using earthly treasures to obtain eternal reward.
